Chapter 70
The First Jhāna Is Secure from Danger and Māra
Read Chapter 70 of Foundation in The Teachings: The First Jhāna Is Secure from Danger and Māra.
So too, Monks, when, distant from sense-desires, distant from unwholesome mental states, enters and resides in the first Jhāna, which is with thinking and pondering, based in seclusion, filled with excitement and joy. On that occasion it occurs to the Monk: Now I am secure from danger and Māra cannot do anything to me. It also occurs to Māra the Evil One: Now the Monk is secure against danger and I cannot do anything to him.

In this Teaching from Gotama Buddha, he shares how once a Practitioner enters into the first Jhāna, they are no longer in danger from Māra the Evil One.
