​Help Create a Lasting Home for The Teachings of The Buddha

​

We are raising funds to help construct a new Buddhist Temple and learning center in Chiang Mai, Thailand—a lasting home where Students can learn and practice The Teachings of The Buddha openly and freely.

​

Since 2018, Teacher David Roylance has been sharing The Teachings of The Buddha at Wat Tung Yu in Chiang Mai and, by invitation, at locations around the world.

​

As the Community of Students, Practitioners, and Teachers has continued to grow, we have outgrown the space currently available to us. Classes sometimes reach their full capacity of more than 80 Students, leaving us unable to welcome everyone who arrives with a sincere interest in learning.

 

We now need your support to create a larger and more lasting Teaching facility.

 

Our Vision

 

Our vision is to develop a Buddhist Temple complex capable of welcoming several hundred Students for classes, courses, meditation programs, retreats, and community gatherings.

 

The new Temple will provide an environment where individuals can learn, reflect on, independently verify, and practice The Teachings of The Buddha on The Path to Enlightenment.

 

Classes and programs will continue to be offered at no cost, allowing anyone with a sincere interest to participate regardless of their financial circumstances.

 

This project is not simply about constructing a building. It is about creating an environment in which people can learn, practice, develop wisdom, and improve the condition of their minds and their lives.

 

Why a New Temple Is Needed

 

Wat Tung Yu has generously provided a home for these Teachings since 2018. However, the available classroom space can no longer accommodate our growing Community.

 

On numerous occasions, we have reached full capacity, and additional Students have been unable to enter the Teaching facility. The need for a larger space is no longer something we anticipate in the future—it is something we are experiencing now.

 

A new Temple will allow us to:

​

• Welcome a significantly larger number of Students.

• Offer more frequent classes, courses, and retreats.

• Provide dedicated spaces for Teaching, meditation, study, and community activities.

• Train additional Teachers to help preserve and share The Teachings of The Buddha.

• Create a lasting home for this growing Community for generations to come.

 

How Your Donation Will Be Used

 

Funds raised through this campaign will be applied toward the major stages of developing the new Temple, including:

​

• Acquiring suitable land in the Chiang Mai area.

• Architectural design and professional planning.

• Preparing and developing the property.

• Constructing Teaching halls, meditation spaces, and community facilities.

• Providing the essential infrastructure and equipment required to operate the Temple.

 

As the project progresses, we intend to share updates about important milestones, planning decisions, expenses, and the use of donated funds.

 

Every contribution—large or small—will help move this project forward.

 

More Than a Teaching Facility

In addition to providing a lasting home for The Teachings of The Buddha, the long-term vision is for the Temple to serve as a community learning and wellness center.

 

Future programs are intended to include:

• Structured English-language education for members of the local community.

• Traditional Thai Medicine treatments and training.

• Educational and cultural activities.

• Community gatherings and service projects.

• Opportunities for international and local Students to learn and practice together.

 

Through these programs, the Temple can contribute to the spiritual, educational, cultural, and practical well-being of the wider community.

 

A Place to Learn, Practice, and Grow

 

A supportive Temple environment provides individuals with the opportunity to step away from the distractions of daily life and dedicate time to learning, reflection, meditation, and practice.

 

Within the proper environment and with guidance from Teachers, Students can gradually develop wisdom, improve the condition of the mind, strengthen their relationships, and live more peacefully within the world.

 

As more individuals develop peacefulness, wisdom, generosity, loving-kindness, and moral conduct, those qualities can positively influence their families, workplaces, communities, and society.

 

A Life Dedicated to Sharing the Teachings

 

Teacher David Roylance has dedicated his life to sharing The Teachings of The Buddha with household and ordained Practitioners throughout the world.

 

Classes, courses, retreats, books, online learning programs, and other educational resources are offered openly so that sincere Students can receive the guidance and support needed to develop a complete life practice.

 

The continued growth of this Community has created the need for a lasting Teaching facility capable of supporting both the Students of today and generations of Students in the future.
